What exactly is The Mountain Hostel?

Well, a few years ago, before the advent of internet holidays, there were fabulous chalets, a little 'off the beaten track', where the food was good, the welcome was warm and it didn't cost an arm and a leg to stay there...

These days, most of these gems have disappeared. They've been swallowed up by the myriad of chalet companies that have sprung up all over the Alps. It is still possible to organise an independant holiday, but inevitably it involves staying in a hotel - always a more expensive, and less sociable atmosphere...

We're trying to recreate what chalet holidays were originally about... come and stay for a few days with friends that you haven't met yet.

Why 'Hostel'?

Because traditionally a hostel is the best value and best fun way to explore a new place... they're sociable, affordable and often very sophisticated despite their sometimes jaded image as back-packer holes... not true at all!!

So What Do You Offer?

We offer a bed and breakfast package, in a quality chalet environment, and it is available all year round, so that you can come and make the most of all that the mountains have to offer!

Anything Else?

You can ask us for what you want, in order to make your stay with us exactly what you want... you can eat dinner with us each evening, a three course evening meal with wine... (and it's not 'old style' chalet fare... some things have to move with the times!!!) ...but it's all up to you, and we won't charge you extra for services that you don't need or want.

We can also organise your airport transfers if you're flying into Geneva (only 75 minutes away), and we run our own complementary resort minibus shuttle service.

Is That It?

We also work closely with local sports schools,such as the Alpine Avoriaz Ski School in the Winter, and the Ecole de Parapente des Portes du Soleil in the summer, to offer an affordable way to come and learn a new sport or to develop the skills that you already have in an ideal environment...

We offer sports that we enjoy ourselves... because we know that we're enthusiastic about them, but we're open to anything!!!

Do I Have to do Sports?

Not at all! You can come and do whatever you want in a beautiful environment... your time is your own, and you're on holiday after all!!

How do I Book?

Click on the Book Online link on each page (or here!).This will take you into our reservation system where you can check availability and reserve your room(s).

You will then be automatically directed to a secure site where you can pay by credit card via PayPal. You don't need a PayPal account to make a payment.

Once your booking has been completed you will see a screen confirming that your reservation has been made, and you will receive an email notification.

It's as simple as that!!!
